The Environmental Working Group’s newest Clean Fifteen list highlights conventionally grown fruits and vegetables that tend to carry the lowest levels of pesticide residue. The list typically includes produce such as avocados, pineapples, sweet corn, onions, papayas, frozen sweet peas, asparagus, cabbage, and mushrooms, giving shoppers more options when deciding where buying organic may matter most. While pesticide residue does not automatically make produce unsafe, the annual list can be a useful guide for consumers looking to stretch their grocery budget while still eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.
