Emerging research published in the journal Nature suggests that lithium, a drug traditionally used to treat bipolar disorder, could play a critical role in reversing Alzheimer’s disease. Studies indicate that low doses of lithium may reduce the buildup of harmful proteins in the brain and support neuronal health, potentially slowing or even reversing cognitive decline. While more clinical trials are needed, these findings offer hope for new therapeutic strategies in the fight against Alzheimer’s.
