Research suggests that getting consistent, high-quality sleep each night may significantly extend lifespan, by up to nearly five years compared with poor sleepers. Key habits include maintaining a regular sleep schedule, getting 7-8 hours per night, falling asleep without difficulty, staying asleep through the night, and feeling rested during the day. Together, these sleep patterns are linked with lower risks of heart disease and other chronic conditions, highlighting sleep as a major factor of long-term health.
