Can oil pulling be a helpful dental habit?

Oil pulling, an ancient practice that involves swishing oil in the mouth, has gained popularity for its supposed dental benefits. Although certain oils have antimicrobial properties, experts say there’s limited evidence that oil pulling is more effective than regular brushing and flossing. While it may be a harmless addition to an oral care routine, it should not replace proven methods like fluoride toothpaste, daily flossing, and professional dental cleanings.
