Two people have died after contracting Vibrio vulnificus, a flesh-eating bacterium, from eating raw oysters in Louisiana. More than 20 residents have fallen ill from the bacteria, which can infect anyone who eats raw or undercooked seafood, especially those with weakened immune systems or liver conditions. Health officials warn that consuming raw shellfish carries serious risks and urge caution.
