Microwaving plastic releases harmful microplastics

Heating plastic in the microwave can release harmful chemicals and microscopic particles into your food, posing serious health risks. A study of baby-food containers found that when microwaved, these plastics released millions of tiny polymer bits known as microplastics, and even smaller nanoplastics. These particles, along with chemicals like BPA and phthalates, may disrupt hormones and contribute to long-term health issues. Experts strongly recommend transferring food to microwave-safe glass or ceramic containers before reheating to avoid contamination and protect your health.
