How temperature may affect sleep and the body’s internal clock

While light is known to help regulate the body's internal clock, researchers are also looking at the role temperature plays in sleep and daily biological rhythms. Core body temperature naturally drops by around 1-2 degrees Fahrenheit as the body prepares for sleep and throughout the night. A warm sleeping environment or bedding that traps heat can make it harder for the body to cool down, potentially affecting sleep quality. Some bedding products are designed with breathable or cooling materials to help reduce heat buildup. Maintaining a comfortable sleeping temperature may be a simple way to support better sleep.
