Some commonly prescribed medications, including those used to treat depression, ADHD, and high blood pressure, may increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related problems. Certain medications can affect how the body regulates temperature, sweats, or maintains fluid balance, making it harder to stay cool in hot weather. Drinking enough water, avoiding prolonged exposure to heat, and paying attention to signs of dehydration can help reduce these risks. People taking these medications should speak with their healthcare provider if they have concerns.
