New research suggests that a short burst of high-intensity exercise, around 10 minutes, may contribute to bowel-cancer protection. The study, published in the International Journal of Cancer, points to a possible mechanism where intense activity appears to trigger molecular signals in the bloodstream that can influence how genes involved in tumor growth and genome instability behave. While it doesn’t replace screening or medical care, it’s another reminder that even brief, consistent exercise can have meaningful health benefits.
