The FDA has approved the first vagus nerve stimulation device to treat rheumatoid arthritis, offering a new option for patients who don’t respond well to traditional medications. The implant works by sending mild electrical pulses to the vagus nerve, which helps reduce inflammation and ease joint pain. This marks a significant step forward in using bioelectronic medicine to manage chronic autoimmune diseases.
