FDA-approved drug shows promise for treating infertility

An FDA-approved drug called finerenone may offer a new approach to treating primary ovarian insufficiency, a condition that can significantly reduce fertility. In laboratory studies, the drug improved ovarian function in mice and appeared to help people with the condition produce mature eggs. While further research is needed to confirm its safety and effectiveness for infertility treatment, the findings suggest that finerenone could potentially be used to restore aspects of ovarian function and expand fertility options for affected patients.
