Everyday habits many centenarians stick to

Across the world’s Blue Zones, places known for unusually high numbers of people living to 100, researchers have found common lifestyle patterns that show up again and again: moving naturally throughout the day (walking, gardening), having a clear sense of purpose, building in stress downshifts (nap, prayer, social time), stopping eating when you’re about 80% full, eating mostly plant-based foods, enjoying moderate alcohol, staying connected to a faith/community, prioritizing family and loved ones, and surrounding yourself with a supportive social circle. Adopting even a few of these habits consistently can meaningfully support long-term health and longevity.
