New research suggests that chronic rhinosinusitis may be associated with an increased risk of certain cancers. Investigators propose that persistent inflammation and immune system activation could contribute to this elevated risk over time. While the findings highlight a potential long-term concern, further studies are needed to clarify causality and determine whether targeted management of chronic sinus disease can help reduce cancer risk.
