AI-powered autism brain map could unlock new treatment targets

Researchers have created what is being described as the largest and most detailed map of autism to date by combining artificial intelligence with genetic data and information gathered from brain tissue and laboratory-grown brain models. The approach allowed scientists to examine how different genes and biological pathways may contribute to autism and how those patterns vary across individuals. Researchers hope the findings could eventually help uncover new drug targets and lead to more personalized treatments. The work is still at an early research stage, but it offers a new way to study the complex biology underlying autism.
