A new experimental treatment may offer a long-term way to control cholesterol with just one dose. Instead of taking daily pills or repeated injections, this approach is designed to target the genes involved in cholesterol production, potentially lowering “bad” LDL cholesterol for years or even life. While the treatment is still being studied and is not yet widely available, it represents an exciting step toward more lasting prevention of heart disease and stroke.
