Laser illusion produces a color the eye has never seen before

In a recent study published in Nature, researchers engineered a never-before-seen color using a clever laser-based optical illusion. By manipulating how light wavelengths interact with the human eye, they created the perception of a new hue outside the natural visible spectrum. The color, called olo, is described as an intensely saturated teal. This discovery not only challenges our understanding of color perception but could also inform advances in display technology, visual art, and even research into color blindness.
