Research shows that certain lifestyle choices can significantly reduce your risk of dementia. Regular physical activity, a nutritious diet, mental stimulation, and good cardiovascular health all play key roles in supporting your brain. Prevent head injury, as physical damage to the brain, including traumatic brain injury, can disrupt normal brain function. It’s also important to limit alcohol use and avoid smoking, since both can harm brain cells and are linked to an increased risk of dementia. Adopting these science-backed practices can help preserve your memory and cognitive function well into older age.
