Enhancing longevity with quality sleep

GETTY

A recent study from the American College of Cardiology found that quality sleep may hold the key to a longer life. This research highlights the importance of restful, uninterrupted sleep on maintaining heart health and overall health, which can contribute to a longer life. The authors suggest that potential gains in life expectancy can be achieved with simple sleep quality improvements such as getting 7-8 hours of sleep nightly; facing difficulties in falling asleep no more than twice a week; avoiding the use of sleep medications; and experiencing challenges in staying asleep no more than twice a week.
