A study published in the journal Nature Cancer reports the development and validation of an autonomous artificial intelligence (AI) agent to support clinical decision-making in oncology. Leveraging multimodal patient data, spanning demographics, imaging, pathology, and treatment outcomes, the system generates real-time, evidence-based recommendations for diagnosis, therapy selection, and prognosis. When tested against GPT-4 alone, the integrated AI enhanced clinical accuracy from 30.3% to 87.2%, highlighting its potential to transform oncologic care by enhancing precision and supporting improved patient outcomes.
