AI skin patch processes health data in real time

Researchers at the University of Chicago have developed a stretchable electronic patch capable of running AI algorithms directly on the body, without sending data to a remote server or relying on a wireless connection. A new fabrication method allows large arrays of flexible transistors to process information in just milliseconds, opening the door to wearable devices that can analyze biological signals and respond almost instantly. The technology could be especially valuable for precision cardiac care, where rapid detection and interpretation of abnormal heart activity may eventually help guide personalized treatments in real time.
